Benitses

One of Corfu’s oldest holiday resorts, that keeps attracting tourists with its picturesque charm for more than 30 years. Tucked between sea and mountain, 13km from Corfu town, it is set within a fine natural landscape and cradles some of the nicest sandy beaches on the island. Benitses used to be a typical Greek fishing village and is still known for its distinctive traditional character that it has managed to preserve fairly intact, despite many years of intense tourist activity. A walk along its narrow streets is a must to really take in the quaint atmosphere. Other than working on your tan or enjoying the local cuisine in one of the area’s tavernas, you cannot miss out on Achilleion; the neoclassical gem is just 4km away.
